How can you tell
How can you tell if you want to hire someone onto your team? For me, increasingly it has to do with a person’s openness to being teachable. I love being around people who are open to feedback, who figure out a way to accept and embrace reality – especially when that reality is difficult. Increasingly, for me, I pause a bit in hiring someone who is closed off to feedback or who dismisses, dodges or denies reality. I want more of this openness in my own life because I truly have experienced it as the only way to grow, learn and improve in life. When I get all stiff-necked or when I see that in others – I know that we are just shutting ourselves off to wisdom. So, how can you tell who to hire? Look for people with an openness to feedback, look for people who embrace reality.
